[The PCD falls out of Ai's pocket and hits the ground, flipping the video on. Like a lot of people, Ai is also enjoying the snowfall in her own way. Still dressed only in her white skirt and pink shirt, she sits on the ground and stares up at the snowflakes drifting down. She reaches up a hand, flakes instantly melting as soon as they get near it.]

Nee-san...

[She continues staring for a while longer before glancing down and noticing the PCD sitting next to her. Ai picks it up, only to jump when she realizes that it's on.]

Oh, I'm sorry about that! I didn't realize this got turned on. Um...

[Ai thinks for a bit, then smiles brightly.]

It's getting a lot colder out, so if anyone needs some blankets or a warm place to stay then please feel free to ask. I don't have a whole lot, but I'm willing to give them out if anyone needs them.

[She smiles a bit wistfully.]

I was always bad about getting my homework done on time. [Or... done at all. Or doing the correct page.] I know I should, but there are so many other things that seem more important.

But then I realized: If I didn't do it, I'd be left behind, when all my friends went on to high school. [Her smile widens.] But I passed. I'm a high school student now, back home.

Oh, congratulations! I'm in high school as well.

[Well, was. Before the school was destroyed. And before she got shot.]

That's great, that's great! We'd be classmates back home! [Not... really, considering they still wouldn't go to the same school. But close enough, so far away from all of that.]

We would! Where did you live before here?

I'm from Tokyo. [She assumes from Ai's name that the other girl won't need more than that.] I grew up there. I go to Juuban High School now. I mean, I did back home.

I'm from Tokyo as well. I lived on the Western side in Kodaira. I don't think I've ever heard of Juuban before.

[Finishing with the tail, Ai sits back so they can just talk for a bit.]

[Look! It really looks like a bunny now! Usagi grins at the obviously beautiful snow sculpture.]

This should be in a contest. It'd be sure to win!

But if you never heard of Juuban.... could it be a different world?

It really could! Oh, but it still needs a face.

[Rolling up two little balls of snow, Ai digs for a bit until she reaches dirt. Then she starts rolling the balls around in it to make them darker.]

Umm....it's possible. But ah, maybe it's just on the other side of Tokyo. Kodaira South is the first high school I've been in, so I don't know many others.

Say, Ai-chan... Did you ever hear of a Mugen Academy? [She isn't sure what she'll do with the answer if it's yes; but it's something it might be important to know.]

[She thinks about it for a moment.]

No, I don't think so.

Huh. It was pretty famous, so I guess we're from different Tokyos after all.

Mm. I guess it must be. So what's your Tokyo like?

It was really beautiful. It's a big city, so at night there are a lot of lights. If you're on a high floor of an apartment building, you can see them easily.

I lived in the Juuban district, in a house. I used to go to the arcade and the cafe with my friends.

It sounds just like my Tokyo, although I can't say that I've ever lived in a really tall apartment building. There are a couple of hills that you can climb up to see a lot of the city, though.

They must be really tall. Are they hard to climb? [She has a mental image of one of those hikes-for-the-afternoon type climbs. Laziness says do not want.]

Not really. You can drive up most of it, and the walk isn't that bad either. It's really nice for when you're looking for a place to watch fireworks, although it can get rather crowded then.

Maybe some day, here, we can watch fireworks together. I'd like that, wouldn't you? Sometimes we still have festivals, so, maybe that could happen at one.

I'd like that. I haven't been to a festival in months.

[She gets an idea and claps.]

Oh! We can try looking around at the mall! Maybe there are some fireworks or sparklers there that haven't been found yet.

Sure! I'm always up for a trip to the mall!

But do you think we can find some that aren't damaged? Will they work alright?

As long as they haven't been broken or damaged by water, they should be alright. And even if we don't find any, at least we'll know that we looked.

So we're looking for snowmen clothing and fireworks now. Should we search for anything else there?

We need more than we thought we would! But it's alright, we'll both help carry it all.

If we get lucky, maybe there will be a cart sitting around somewhere.

Did you want to go now? We can't do much else with the snow bunny without some accessories.

People sort of took a lot of the carts first thing, I think. I haven't seen one in awhile. But let's go look! [After all, they needed the supplies to continue!]

[After brushing the snow off of herself and making sure that Usagi is ready to go, Ai starts half-walking, half-skipping off to the mall. She hasn't gotten to go exploring with anyone yet, so this makes her even more excited.]

[Usagi catches up easily, and moves to link her arm with Ai's.]
